Sara Michele Crusade is a writer by passion and a psychotherapist by profession. A U.S. Army veteran, Sara also holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in transpersonal psychology. She holds her independent license as a Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida, as well as her credentials as a Certified Addictions Professional and a National Certified Counselor. Sara has been a journalist since the age of 12, when she started her own newsletter for model horse enthusiasts. In high school, she was named Outstanding Senior in Journalism (as well as Theatre), and in the Army Sara was tasked to the Fort. Stewart Patriot – the post newspaper – as a photographer and journalist.

Sara’s professionalism as a soldier and journalist allowed her to interview officers, enlisted, and civilian alike, including the post commander of Fort. Stewart, Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf; and she earned the Army Achievement medal for her dedication to the Public Affairs Office. Sara has been a freelance writer and photographer stateside as well as in Heidelberg, Germany; in newspapers, magazines, and anthologies.

From January 2010 to July 2011, Sara was the Las Vegas Conservative Examiner, a columnist on the Las Vegas Tribune, and a member of the Tribune Editorial Board. Sara entered the world of broadcast journalism in the summer of 2010 when she joined YBSRadio.com; first as a co-host for the flagship morning show, Face the Tribune, and then as host of her own internet broadcast, The Freedom Hour. As of March 2012, Sara has held the freelance position of Fort Riley Military Culture Examiner while being stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas.

Sara has been empowering people for over 20 years at the pre and post graduate level as a counselor and coach. She has worked in a diversity of settings utilizing a holistic mind-body-spirit approach with children, adolescents, and adults. Currently, Sara empowers soldiers with the 1ST Infantry Division at Fort Riley who have substance abuse and mental health issues.

Sara has been active in politics and community affairs for many years having been a Den Leader and Assistant Scout Master in a Florida Boy Scout Troop; a DEA Officer and Assistant Officer in Charge of Navy League Cadets in Florida and Ohio; and an Officer Candidate in the Ohio Military Reserve. She is a staunch Second Amendment advocate having served as the Florida State co-coordinator for Second Amendment Sisters; an Endowment Member and Golden Eagle with the National Rifle Association; a NRA certified instructor in basic pistol, rifle, shotgun, Home Firearm Safety, and Refuse To Be A Victim; and a member of many other grassroots organizations. While residing in Las Vegas, Sara served on the board of Blue Star Mothers of Southern Nevada Chapter 1. She has recently volunteered to serve on the board of U Good Dog, a service dog training organization in the Flint Hills.

Sara is the proud mother of an Army soldier, and her son has been her inspiration for her every breath. She is also the proud aunt of a Marine. Sara has family in Florida, Nevada, and Ohio.
